The Pink Chaddi Campaign

Join us on February 14, Valentine's Day, the day in which Indian women's virginity and honour will self-destruct unless they marry or tie a rakhi. Walk to the nearest pub and buy a drink. Raise a toast to the Sri Ram Sena or to Indian women if you prefer.

But before that join us as we prepare a Valentine's Day gift for the Sri Ram Sena. In each of our cities women are going to collect pink chaddis to send to Mangalore. Our own testimony of love. Join the Pink Chaddi Campaign.

If you are on Facebook just join the group:

In 24 hours we have had 420 volunteers. Two artists have signed up. A dozen women have offered to take charge of the actions in their cities.

Update: We are now over a thousand!

Ummm, but isn't this too confrontational and insulting? Besides, I worry about the postman/woman that get to deliver this stuff to the Sene.

Sending them Khajuraho postcards or something would have been a little more appropriate. :D

wondering how those of us, not in the country right now, can help?

Wonderful campaign, I'd have sent them the pink chaddi too for sure if I was in India. Women are not alone in this. Sree Rama Sena thinks they have all men on their side. There are millions of us who will support women in their rights. It's the Sena that has no right to do what they do. Cheers to you ladies.

This is bloody brilliant! I wish the pink chaddies could be substituted with soiled undies though. Gross... and so appropriate.
Anyway its great to see that "valentine's day" has just gotten a lot more meaningful, and all thanks to the ballless saffron brigade.

dont just send that idiot pink chaddis but write messages also for him....looks like he never ever managed to have a girl in his life.....

the poster shows RSS members doing their ritual salute. Sriramasene has got nothing to do with RSS.
dont be surprised if you get a load of litigation in your chaddiless lap for insulting RSS.
Now this campaign is looking like typical succular boo hoo.. drag RSS in everything

February 10, 2009 at 6:43 PM

Well, the RSS are at the forefront of the saffron brigade and are pretty much the pioneers of it. They've become adept at cultural terrorism just like their Islamic terrorist counterparts. Keeping informal ties and spawning sister organizations is something they've become quite adept at. Either ways they have been equally guilty of moral policing in the past so screw them. Just because something cant be proved on paper that doesn't mean its not true. And we know how glorious their history was, and how they lacked the balls to be part of the freedom struggle, no matter how misguided that was.

Warm regards for this guy with his Chaddis on (I hope its pink, dawg!)
Your friend Mutt-A-Lick!

Hi,
I appluad you for the initiative. What Indians generally need to understand is that unless they protest, nothing is ever going to happen.Mere complaining doesn't cut it.Asserting your protest by acting upon it is the most important part of countering extremists who impinge upon the freedom of fellow citizens.
This mangalore incident is not just about women's issue, This is about democracy and human and constitutional rights; irrespective of gender and religion.
I have been constantly posting comments on youtube expressing my protest from day one and i request all indians(both men and women) to do so too..Afterall, getting heard is so so important.
I may not have a drink this valentine's day(coz i don't generally drink) and I may not send chaddis to roadside goons( I think I do not want to interact with goons in any given way), but i still am with you ladies, coz , everyone of us holds the right to have a quiet lil drink if we choose to do so.India is a free country and women are equal citizens with equal rights as men.Don't let the ignorant goons dictate. They barely know indian history and culture.
cheers and best wishes.

also, someone in the comments above wrote that RSS has nothing to do with sene..Are you kidding me? The rss members go around finding who are the hindus and who are not in each locality and then plant their orange flags in front the residencies without the permission of the homeowner.
They are the forefront of mindless hindu religious extremism.
The rss needs to tone down and youth who plan to join rss need to think twice too.
I am a hindu but I am absolutely against religious talibanization fo any type by any religion.

Mutalik and Ram Sena even supports the terrorist attack in Malegaon.

Imagine a person supporting a terrorist attack and terrorists in India just because they are Hindu terrorists and then says that he loves India while supporting the terrorists. What a Hypocrite. These supporters of terrorism must be hanged.

Hats off to Nisha Susan. Lagi Raho dear. But that #/@$.... doesn't deserve new chaddhis. Let he be cloaked in a heap of soiled stinking chaddhis.
Beside, this I am not a woman, don't go to pub, but still I am with all of you in your campaign of Moral Policing. Let these immoral bastereds be taught lesson of Morality.

Let truth Prevail.

to reach you to your salvation

i'm a rock 'n' roll renegade
and i've abandoned the norm for the music

DAMN U moralistic Ba@#*$Ds!!! What would you have to say if your women who've moved to the states were forced to wear their clothes and were abused or assaulted for wearing sarees?

February 13, 2009 at 12:37 PM

If sri ram sene are a bunch of ignorant people...you who claim as forward, loose , pub going women, are imbecilic and benighted bunch of people. First of all the blogger here has gone pauper..he's given the pics of RSS and he didn't have enough amunitions get the pics of mauthalik and co. Sending chaddies seems to be fun but its uncultured as well. The cause is for women who wants to drink , have one night stands , sex and what not. The prostitutes from kamatipura is much cultured I guess.

February 15, 2009 at 9:15 PM

Sending Pink chaddis was a good idea for any kind of intolerance against women.

Hindu culture was much more open and free before the Christian and Muslim invasions happened. In fact it was Victorian era English men who forced Indian women to wear blouses. A look at Hindu temples of the ages shows how open our society was.

Honestly, I don't know why Muthalik and co are trying to protect English/Western/Muslim influences on our culture.

On the same note, Why a Journalist like Nisha Susan is trying to protect NSUI goons while she sends Pink chaddis to Muthalik? Being a journalist, she should be aware that Kerala Communist C H Kunhambu's daughter was groped and abused by NSUI activists in a bus because she was travelling with a Muslim boy. Initially when the press and Nisha Susan misread that it was done by Rama Sene, it was a big story. Once Mangalore police captured the NSUI creeps who did it, the news COMPLETELY VANISHED from the channels and newspapers.

For public information, NSUI is National Students Union of India, which is Congress Party's student wing and charied by none other than Rahul Gandhi along with Congress Youth wing. The goons who groped the Kerala MLA's daughter are Kerala Christians and are members of NSUI.

A journalist like Nisha Susan should not be having biased campaign and also should not differentiate against Hindu Goons and Christian goons and Muslim goons.

Why not send Pink Chaddis or Pink Brassiers to Rahul Gandhi? Like Muthalik this guy Rahul Gandhi is also unmarried and also heads the group called NSUI - which is Congress party's Student Union.

Nisha, Keep up the good work of protesting against injustice meted out to Liberal woman. Dont slip up in religious bias - Take the campaign to Hindu goons, Christian goons and Muslim goons. Send Pink Chaddis to all goons irrespective of their religion and Public image.

In the UK, the lesbian and gay community have an even more novel way of protest. They strip and parade in the streets of london nude to protest injustice!

When will India develop like UK so that women move beyond Pink chaddi Campaign?
