I blame myself. I don't blame Madhur Bhandarkar. Clearly it's my fault that a man with twin tin ears and the directorial ability of my 8th standard skit-producing classmate and the social empathy of an 80s Woman's Era agony aunt, wins National Awards and is solely in charge of producing socially relevant cinema. I'm to blame that Bhandarkar takes himself seriously enough to do a cameo in Fashion. I should have made him disappear after Chandni Bar. I'm sorry.
UPDATE: Yes it is true, that Priyanka Chopra's character is shown as plunging into moral disorder through her choice of substance abuse. First she is a non-smoking, non-drinking good girl from Chandigarh. Then she drinks innocuous looking wine and flirts with a married man. She breaks up with her boyfriend, gets into a car and starts smoking. Then she smokes and drinks more frequently. She gets an abortion and drinks (gasp!) straight from the bottle. Then the nadir (almost) -- she snorts cocaine. But the thing that sends her running back to her Mommy in Chandigarh unable to speak for a year and needing therapy is none of this. She snorts cocaine and finds herself in bed with a black man. And this according to Mr Bhandarkar is IT.

so now you are blaming yourself.that bad huh?
and the women? i was hoping they would pull it off.
i like the blob of a nose priyanka sports with such elan- and her little paunch. and the space cadet look of kangana- i am hypnotised by and in awe of that look.

Sur: Just finished watching the last quarter of the movie. Its on youtube would you believe? I like the women... even mugdha godse is pretty good. But the script and direction! And all the gay men are so depressingly bad! And by the way, priyanka chopra's nadir, her moment of greatest debasement according to this film is the day she finds herself in bed with a black man.

Yes, my mouth fell open at that one. Sociall conscious cinema, huh? The women were decent though. Also, the MB cameo was so ickily self-consious.

Aargh, so many typos! That's 'socially' and 'self-conscious'.
