The Great Tamil Escape

Read about the Blaft anthology of Pulp Fiction here.

More about Blaft at their website.

And talking of pulp I must insist that you go out and buy Jilly Cooper. The covers will make you wince, you will wonder why the books are all set in a fictional English county called Rutshire (there is an extraordinary amount of bonking. It's glorious bonking, better than sex) but Jilly Cooper is the best thing since Nutella. She is funny and vivid and addictive. I insist that you read them in this order though.

Hmm. Yet one more reason (not that I need more) to come to India. I doubt that Tamil pulp fiction will make it to bookstores in the US...

I was just enlightened about Gulshan Nanda this past week. One more reason (not that I need more) to learn Hindi!

And yes, Jilly Cooper is fun fun fun.

i love jilly cooper, though i must confess i always read books out of order - these included.

have you read her earlier, slimmer romances? the ones called Emily (incest, if I remember) and suchlike?

Oh, also look out for a book of love poetry she's edited. good stuff there!
